All of this emergency info posted on this site is SO important! I was heavily involved in the Katrina & Rita rescues and I can't tell you how important it is to have a plan!  <br><br>The Dogtravel Company http://www.dogtravelcompany.net has a program that everyone should enroll in!!!  <br><br>It's an Emergency Pet Guardian Notification Program.  If you are ever in a serious life threatening accident, or become seriously ill where you need to be hospitalized and can't take care of your pets, (or worse) the PetPromise program will notify any EMTs or Emergency Personnel that you are a pet owner and that they need to call the PetPromise operator to let them know your pets are home alone.<br><br>The PetPromise operator will contact the people you have designated as pet guardians and make sure that they know your pets are home alone and need your help. They will make sure that your pets are fed, your dogs are walked and exercised regularly, and your pets get their medications if needed or go to the vet as needed.  They will make sure that your wishes are honored, and they even work with the Pet Eternal Trust for those of us who want Pet Trusts (not that we all have as much money as Leona Helmsley but we do love our pets and want to make sure that they are well cared for if we can't.<br><br>The PetPromise Program is part of the Dogtravel Club Membership and members are automatically enrolled in the program.   Annual dues are $29.99 and it's well worth it for the peace of mind! <br><br>The plan works anywhere you are, anywhere in the world, even in emergency disasters!  <br><br>If you don't have a pet guardian you can list your vet as your pet's guardian, or even work directly with Pet Eternal Trust.
