We've already traveled by car across country with our basset hound and kind of know what to expect. We're planning a trip to SD, CO and WY, and maybe a few more places. Would appreciate any ideas for lodging there and on the way.

We plan stops in Columbus, OH, Cedar Rapids, IA and Sioux Falls, SD on the way to Mt. Rushmore. Plan to stay in the Mt. Rushmore area for a few days, then on to Yellowstone and the Tetons.

We do have reservations at the Broadmoor in CO Springs, and from there to visit the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

If we're not totally exhausted, we're thinking of driving down to Santa Fe, and wonder how dog friendly it is.

Geez, I'm tired just thinking about it!
